DevoteMe (operated by Anchorlight Development) lets you permanently delete your account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to request deletion and what happens to your data.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (instant)
- Sign in to DevoteMe.
- Go to Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm by typing your email address, then select Delete my account.
Your account and personal data are deleted immediately and you are signed out. This action cannot be undone.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you cannot access your account, email privacy@anchorlight.dev from the address associated with your account with the subject “Account deletion request”. We will verify your identity and process the deletion, typically within 30 days.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the personal data associated with it, including:
- Your account details (email, display name, password hash, profile);
- Your prayers, prayer categories, and prayer journeys;
- Your devotional progress, streaks, and preferences;
- Your community memberships, reflections, prayer points, and comments;
- Your saved/favourite prayers and voice sessions;
- Any registered push-notification device tokens.
What may be retained
We may retain a limited amount of information where required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or security purposes (for example, records of payments processed by our payment provider, Stripe). Any retained data is kept only for as long as necessary and is then deleted or anonymised. Active paid subscriptions are cancelled as part of deletion so you are not billed further.
