Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Anchorlight Development (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use DevoteMe (the “Service”), whether through our website or our Android and iOS applications. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password when you register. If you sign in through a third-party provider (e.g. Discord), we receive your basic profile identifier from that provider.
  • Content you create: prayers, prayer categories, prayer journeys, reflections, community posts and comments, and similar content you choose to add.
  • Community activity: communities you join, prayer points, streaks, and leaderboard participation.
  • Communications: messages you send us through feedback or support channels.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: devotional progress, streaks, and basic interaction data used to operate features like progress tracking.
  • Device & technical data: limited technical information (such as browser/app type) needed to deliver and secure the Service.
  • Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, we store a device push token (Web Push, Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android, or Apple Push Notification service on iOS) so we can deliver notifications you have requested.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To save your prayers, progress, streaks, and preferences.
  • To enable community features you choose to participate in.
  • To send notifications and updates you have opted into.
  • To respond to your support requests and feedback.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Payment Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan (DevoteMe Plus), payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers. Stripe's handling of your information is governed by its own privacy policy.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g. hosting, email delivery, payment processing, image storage, and push-notification delivery), under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
  • Within communities you join — content you post there is visible to other members of that community.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and correction: you can view and update much of your information in your account settings.
  • Account deletion: you may delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete account), or by following the instructions on our account & data deletion page or by contacting us at privacy@anchorlight.dev. Deleting your account removes your personal data as described in Section 5.
  • Notifications: you can disable push notifications in your device or app settings.

Where applicable under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and other relevant laws, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including password hashing and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. International Users

We operate from Australia. If you access the Service from elsewhere, your information may be processed in Australia or in countries where our service providers operate.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by updating the “Last updated” date above.
